This one day introduction to sea kayaking is an ideal way to test the waters and to see if sea kayaking is for you. Either way you will end your day having had fun and feeling inspired.

A 1 day introductory course which will enable you to learn the basics of Sea Kayak handling. First of all we'll help you to feel relaxed and stable in a kayak, we will teach you the basic skills required to make it go where you wnat it to go and there will be some safety stuff to cover. Then we'll take you on a short journey so that you can put it all into practice. On the way, as well as admiring the scenery and seeing some wildlife, wel help you to paddle efficiently. The emphasis will be on interest and enjoyment rather than intensive coaching.
WHO IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR?
For folks who have always fancied having a go, or who just want to try something new and different.
PADDLING SKILL LEVEL
No previous experience is necessary. You don't even neet to be particularly fit, though it helps if you have some reasonable flexibility (you don't have to be a gymnast or yoga expert!) If you weigh more than 16 stone we might need to have a chat.
HOW FAR WILL WE PADDLE?
Not far! It depends entirely on you. Our longest first day intro so far has been about 11 miles and the shortest about ! mile!
WHAT SEAFREEDOMKAYAK PROVIDE?
We provide all sea kayaking kit required for a safe, warm day out. This includes high quality kayaks, paddles, dry cagaoules and trousers, drysuits (if appropriate), wet suit boots, pogies (paddling gloves) and drybags. We even supply you with tea and coffee during the day!
WHERE DOES THE COURSE START?
We meet at our base in Connel, near Oban. The exact paddling location depends on the wind and tides - and you.
20% payment is required to secure your booking as well as the return of a completed booking form which can be found at the bottom of this page.
