Warning: Last items in stock!
Argyll is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places in Scotland to spend time in a sea kayak. Our many Islands give us a variety of great paddling locations and opportunities. With abundant marine life, including seals, porpoise, otters, dolphins and occassionally whales, this area is worth taking the time to explore. There is also a rich diversity of coastal flora and fauna, as well as bird life, including sea eagles.
This 5 day trip takes in areas of the Argyll Sea Kayak Trail that are local to us and gives you a taste for the full sea kayak trail. We will include coaching skills en route to allow us to access more exposed areas and explore what is a fantastic area. The finishing gem to this trip is a 2 day/one night expedition where we will get to truly immerse ourselves in this unique and special area, as well as bringing all our skills together.
WHO IS THIS COURSE/TRIP SUITABLE FOR?
This course/trip is ideal for anyone who wants to develop their skills but who wants to incorporate great journeys and exploration into this process in an enjoyable way. It is recommended that you have at least 10 days previous kayaking experience within the last 2 years. This will allow you to make the most of your learning experience and will open up some great sea kayaking locations for you.
PADDLING SKILL LEVEL
The recommended skill level for this trip is development stage 2 - 2.5. See here for more details.
HOW FAR WILL WE PADDLE EVERY DAY?
Each day will be different and we will focus on the skills we need to in order to get to the good spots. This may mean some coaching thrown in at the beginning of the day before we set off on a journey or coaching en route. Whatever combination each day takes, it will be fun and inspiring and will be the perfect build up to the expedition at the the end of the course. A minimum of about 12 to 15 km (and maybe a little more) can be expected. Each day we will work around every person's requirements in delivering an individualised coaching and adventure experience, so are entirely flexible.
